Rep. Jim Wayne is the state representative for Kentucky's 35th House District in Louisville.

A Democrat, Jim has served in the House of Representatives since 1991. During his tenure in the General Assembly, he has been recognized as an advocate for housing opportunities for the poor, as well as a leading voice in calling for tax reform and mental health care reforms.

Jim serves on a number of influential legislative committees, including the Appropriations and Revenue Committee, the Capital Projects and Bond Oversight Committee, the State Government Committee, and the Local Government Committee.

In addition to his service in the General Assembly, Jim is president of the Wayne Corporation in Louisville.

Jim has served with numerous community groups, including the Louisville Coalition for the Homeless, the Metropolitan Housing Coalition, the Kentucky Housing Policy Committee, and the Airport Neighbor's Alliance, Inc. Further, Jim was a charter board member of Hand in Hand Ministries and the Community Catholic Center

JIm is member of the National Association of Social Workers, and is a past president of the Kentucky Society for Clinical Social Work.

Jim holds a bachelor's degree from Maryknoll College, as well as a master's degrees from the Maryknoll School of Theology, the Smith College School for Social Work and
Spalding University.
